Chestnut Ridge Elementary

Message from Mrs. Hale - March 17, 2020

Good Afternoon, this is principal, Kim Hale, calling all Chestnut Ridge families on Tuesday, March 17, with a few updates.

If your child is in grades 1 through 4 and needs a Chromebook, please call the main office to schedule a time to pick one up on Wednesday between 8:00 a.m. and  noon.  The distribution will be a “drive-up” near the main entrance and the chrome book and charger will be delivered to you in your car.  If there are any other essential personal items that you need from the building, you need to call ahead to arrange pick up.

For families that need food pick up, meals will be available at Door 4 on the side of CRS beginning on Wednesday, March 18 between the hours of 11:00 to 12:30.  A lunch & breakfast will be available to any student under the age of 18 free of charge.  Parents will be directed by Security to the staff parking lot, and 1 family at a time will enter door 4 to receive the food items in a bag to go.  Students DO NOT need to be present.  A family member or designee can pick up the food.  Please be patient as the food service staff works to provide this service.

All classrooms are using Google classroom.  Teachers will be using this format to communicate and share learning activities with students. Al students in grades 1-6 are familiar with using Google classroom. Families should be receiving information from their teachers in the next day or so.  Also- be sure to check your child’s folder from Friday for a handout with log in information and several free on-line resources available.   Work for Kindergarten students was put in the mail today.

Please check the district website for updates.  We will continue to work together during this challenging time.   If you have any questions or concerns, please call the main office at 889-2188 or email [email protected]  Thank you and stay healthy!
