Notes about the book and the author.
As important as they
were,
in the short historical period of 800 years, almost 3000 years ago, the
Etruscans have been forgotten by the world. Most of the non-Italians,
don't
even know that they existed, or at what point of the human history. Nowhere
else than in Italy (specially in central Italy) Etruscans are so
celebrated. If you're Italian, you don't even have an option...you study
this in school...if you're a foreigner, you may get some foggy facts on
some guidebooks or occasional translated booklets at some museums.
This book fills in an empty space. The true Who, What, Why, When and Where
of the Etruscan, without being too technical and annoying, or too simple as
an "Etruscan for Dummies".
I am Italian, and I have studied the
Etruscans at school first and for pleasure after. This is an extremely good source of
Informations, if you want to know more. And I also found it amusing and well
written.
